Although sorted into Slytherin, Scorpius is not the bully his father was at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, he came with the reputation of being that bully's son who, along with his father, was a Death Eater. Of course, they were pardoned a long time ago, but some people don't forget things like that.

But he's very intelligent and cunning, and the sorting hat clearly saw that. He's also talented at quidditch, and earned his place on the team. He's also skilled in potions, but history of magic and arithmancy are extremely boring to him.

He's been raised by two doting, spoiling parents, and sometimes he can be a bit of a brat. But he's started to grow out of it when around his friends at school. Although there are still some hard feelings between Slytherins and Gryffindors, it's not nearly as strong as it was when Harry Potter and co. went to school there. It's not entirely surprising for a Slytherin like him to be friends with Gryffindors. With Death Eaters nonexistent and the Dark Lord gone for good, old prejudices and grudges have all but disappeared.

That doesn't mean he isn't competitive with a Quidditch game against the Gryffindors, or Hufflepuffs or Ravenclaw for that matter, nor with House Points and the race for the House Cup.

Personality-wise, Scorpius is usually pretty laid back and sarcastic, though he can be somewhat standoffish at times, especially if the other guy starts something first. He doesn't like people bringing up the faults of his dad's past, and comparing him to that. He has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, but he's not naturally mean like his father was. He's not some goody-goody either, though, and has been known to sneak out of the castle to drink alcohol or smoke. They're both habits his parents do not approve of at all. Other than this, their son can do no wrong in their eyes.
